February 19, 1997 - President of Lithuania Algirdas Brazauskas, who visited Uzbekistan on 19th February, has signed three agreements with Uzbek President Islam Karimov on international passenger and freight road transport, on rail transport cooperation, and on rendering transport and other services to Uzbek freight being shipped via the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda. An agreement was also signed between the two countries on legal aid and legal relations in the field of civil, family and criminal cases.
